USS Academy works with a wide variety of venues. Here is what we need from your space to deliver a safe, professional training experience.
For lecture-based courses (Self-Defense Seminars, Open Carry Navigation, Safe Storage), we need a room that comfortably seats your expected group with chairs, a projection screen or large TV, and access to power outlets. HOA clubhouses, church fellowship halls, gym studios, and conference rooms all work. Restroom access and parking for students are the only other requirements.
For courses with a range component (CWP, Beginner Courses, Tactical Training), a licensed shooting range facility is required. The range must have adequate lane space, proper backstops, ventilation (indoor), and meet all local and state safety regulations. USS Academy carries full general liability insurance and can add your facility as additional insured at no cost.
Hosted classes require a minimum of 10 students to schedule. Maximum capacity depends on your venue and the course type. Classroom-only courses can accommodate up to 100 students in the right space. Live-fire classes are capped based on available range lanes and instructor-to-student ratios for safety. USS Academy provides all instructional materials, printed handouts, certificates of completion, and course supplies. For live-fire classes, we provide rental firearms and ammunition for students who do not have their own.
