Central Florida's Original Firearms Academy — Est. 2008

A Program Built by USMC Veterans

Many military personnel leave service with two truths: they can run their issued weapon system at a high level, and they have almost no access to structured civilian-range training to keep that skill sharp between units, schools, or after separation. USS Academy was built in part to solve that second problem.

Our military program is instructed by United States Marine Corps veterans with combat marksmanship instructor credentials, supplemented by Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors who understand the operational tempo difference between active-duty and civilian range time. The doctrine, language, and expectations are military-literate.

This program supports three audiences: active-duty personnel on leave or stationed in Central Florida who want structured range time; reservists and National Guard members between drill weekends; and recently-separated veterans who want to maintain proficiency — or rebuild it after a long break.

What the Military Program Covers

The core curriculum follows USMC combat marksmanship principles adapted to civilian-range timeline. Fundamentals — stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, and breathing — are re-anchored before moving into movement, transitions, and multi-target engagement.

Pistol blocks cover M17/M18 and M9 platform familiarity, civilian duty-analog pistols (Glock 17/19/45, SIG P320/P365), draw from retention, reload and malfunction drills, and close-range defensive shooting.

Rifle blocks cover M4/M16-pattern carbine, civilian AR-pattern rifles and pistols, PCCs, zero confirmation, transitions, barricade and cover use, and engagement out to 100+ yards on properly-sized targets. Students can bring their own issued or civilian rifles.

Night vision and low-light blocks bridge into our dedicated night vision program. Active-duty personnel carrying PVS-14s or duals can run passive aiming, IR laser work, and no-light drills in a civilian-legal environment between official training blocks.

Advanced blocks include scenario shooting, multi-target transitions, and force-on-force preparation drills.

Active Duty Reserve, Guard, Veteran, Contractor

This program welcomes: active-duty personnel from all branches, National Guard and Reserve members, recently-separated veterans (last 10 years prioritized for the combat-marksmanship block but all welcome), and DoD contractors with documented firearms currency requirements.

Students must present a valid military ID, DD-214, or contractor credentialing at booking. We honor all branches equally and we do not gatekeep veterans by MOS — a mechanic's hands grip the same way a 0311's do when the fundamentals are right.

Veterans Train at Cost-Adjusted Rates

USS Academy offers documented veteran pricing on standard program blocks. Active-duty rates are flat-matched to veteran rates. Valid ID or DD-214 required at booking. The academy does not list public prices for military discount tiers; contact us directly for your block and dates.

Training Between Ranges

USS Academy has been operating in Central Florida since 2008. Our instructors have 27+ years of combined instructor experience. We are backed by U.S.S. Agency, a Florida Class B security company with 280+ armed officers deployed across the state — an operational environment that includes many prior-military officers.

We welcome military students without civilianizing the doctrine. We do not force you into a beginner-pace walk-back on fundamentals you have used for years. We simply re-anchor, then push the pace.

No other Orlando firearms academy can offer this combination: USMC-trained instructors, LEO firearms instructors, active tactical agency backbone, night vision program, and documented military-friendly rates.
