USS Academy's CWP class in Orlando is the original training program that has prepared more than 29,000 Florida residents to legally carry a concealed firearm, confidently handle real scenarios, and pass the state-required proficiency standard. Every class is taught in person, includes live-fire range work, and ends with a state-approved Certificate of Completion that meets the requirement under Florida Statute 790.06(2)(h).

Training is delivered by certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, U.S. Marine Corps instructors, NRA Instructors, USCCA Instructors, and Florida Class K Instructors. We specifically welcome women stepping into training for the first time, and we regularly run sessions with a majority of female students led by instructors who understand that learning to carry is a personal — often deeply emotional — decision, not just a transaction.

Orlando Class Details

Location: Classes are held at USS Academy's primary partner range, 595 Donovan Crews Road, Saint Cloud, FL 34773 — approximately 30 minutes south of downtown Orlando. Class Duration: Plan on a half-day experience. Most CWP classes run 4 to 5 hours including classroom instruction, range safety brief, live-fire qualification, and certificate issuance.

Certificate: Every student who successfully completes the class receives a state-approved Certificate of Completion the same day. Use it to complete your Florida Concealed Weapons Permit application with FDACS or a county tax collector's office. Instructors walk you through submission at the end of class.

Florida CWP Requirements

You must be 21 (or 18 with qualifying military service), a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, legally able to possess a firearm, and able to demonstrate competency with a firearm through a certified training course with live-fire. Your Certificate of Completion from USS Academy is accepted by FDACS across all 67 Florida counties.
